The authors reffered to the students of the undergraduate education program for secondary schools mathematics teachers who participated simultaneously in an advanced course in plane geometry and in the course on computer usage in mathematics teaching. Two sub-groups of students differing in their level of geometrical thought, and to two different levels of problems as we classified them were studied. The authors observed different approaches towards computer usage among the students of the two subgroups, and investigated the appropriate computer usage for teaching and learning different types of problems and their solutions. In particular, it was found that a student should be introduced to the computerized tools simultaneously with the theoretical part of the course and experience studying the course using these tools. As a result, the authors have come up with a new method of teaching these issues.
