Dr. Alla Meyerovich is a lecturer in Linguistics at the English Department at Achva Academic College of Education. She has worked out and taught courses in Text Analysis, Applied Linguistics, Basic and Advanced Grammar, Introduction to Linguistics, Discourse Analysis, The History of the English Language, Language Policy, Language and Gender, Text Transformation in Its Translations into Semi-Verbal and Non-Verbal Language, Cultural Aspect of Language Development, Seminar in Linguistics "Philosophy o Language", Seminar in Literature.
In 1983 – 1986 Alla Meyerovich did a scientific research at the Department of English Stylistics in Moscow Linguistic University named after Maurice Torez in the category of text completeness in functional stylistics and in 1987 defended it as a doctorate and got Ph. D. in Germanic Philology. She published articles in text linguistics in scientific journals. Later as an assistant professor at Almati Academy of Theatre and Fine Arts published a textbook "English for Beginners". Her M.A. was in English Teaching, but since she started research in Russian language, she entered the University and got the second MA in Russian Philology. Published articles in scientific journals and participated in scientific conferences.
In 1992 Dr. Alla Meyerovich immigrated to Israel. She got a three year grant from the Department of Integration in Science, conducted research in semiotic text analysis. In 1994 as a post doctorate student started research in Russian Jewish periodicals at Hebrew University; got Golda Meir fund prize for serious achievements in science.
In 2004 – 2005 was a visiting scholar at Davis Centre, Harvard. Conducted research in Jewish self-identity on the basis of the analysis of publications in Russian Jewish periodicals of the XIX – XX centuries. The results of the research were presented at the seminar "Language Choice and Self-Identity" conducted at Davis Center. The studies in the topic have been being conducted and the results have been presented at conferences and in publications.
Dr. Alla Meyerovich annually works out new courses. She has been doing her scientific research in Applied Linguistics (Language and Personality, Language and Gender) and Text Analysis. Practicum in Text Analysis used for Text Analysis teaching is being prepared for publication as a book
